        Create a small \u201cJungle Explorer Station.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Place the natural materials in a basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Position the light so that objects can create clear shadows on a nearby white wall or vertical surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Start with only a few objects rather than putting everything out at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Explore the objects<\/strong>
        Allow children to touch, look at and compare the leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        2. Make a shadow<\/strong>
        Hold one leaf between the light and wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        3. Change the size<\/strong>
        Move the leaf closer to the light and then closer to the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        4. Experiment<\/strong>
        Try different leaves, twigs and combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        5. Create a jungle<\/strong>
        Layer several objects together to make a large \u201cjungle shadow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        6. Move the light<\/strong>
        Change the direction of the light and observe how the shadow changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        7. Trace the shadow<\/strong>
        Trace the leaf shadows on the large drawing paper on the wall to see how many leaf shadows can create an amazing jungle on the wall!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
